Constitution Committee:
The Constitution Committee ensures that the existing Constitution facilitates ease of operation of the organisational affairs of SASA and complies with the Fund Raising Act.
Terms of reference include terms of reference for all committees (see page i) plus:

the committee shall review the existing Constitution and solicit recommendations for amendments from the membership

the committee shall submit recommendations for amendments to the Executive and then to the membership for approval at least six (6) months prior to the General meetingAmended August 2006

the committee Chairperson shall conduct the business portion of the biennial General Meeting, which deals specifically with proposed amendments to the Constitution

the committee Chairperson shall arrange for amendments to be typed into the SASA constitution/update the Website and forward same to the Provincial Delegates for circulation to the members

the committee shall ensure that the activities of SASA, where applicable, are conducted within the framework of the Constitution

the chairperson shall arrange for all Constitutional changes to be forwarded to the Department of Welfare and the Receiver of Revenue Revenue in conjunction with the Treasurer. The statutory clauses - Area, Fund Raising, Investments and Non-Profit Making Activities, Fiscal Year, Powers of theOfficers, Quorum, Amendments, Dissolution, as amended November 1996, may not be altered unless a directive is obtained from the Director ofFund Raising.
